Using eBay as a tool to develop your other businesses

Selling is not the only thing that most sellers do on eBay to earn an extra income. In fact, a decent amount of the money that eBay sellers make comes from using eBay as a tool to help their existing businesses.

There are many different ways to use eBay as a helping tool. On the one hand, you can use eBay as a new market for your old inventory. "About Me" page is where the true power of eBay lies. On this page you get to write whatever you want about yourself and accordingly about your other businesses. Moreover, "About Me" page allows you to provide a link to your website. In other words, you will be able to attract viewers to your business website by providing a link to your "About Me" page from each of your auctions and providing a link to your website from your "About Me" page.

To create an "About Me" page, you just need to click on "Community" on the toolbar, scroll down to the bottom of the page, and click "Create an About Me page". Afterwards, you get to choose between entering your own HTML or allowing eBay to lead you through the whole process. Next, you need to write a small paragraph about your business, and if you have a website, provide a link to it, - and you’re done. All you need to do now is to sit back and watch as buyers browse your website for good deals.

This marketing strategy is not new. In fact, thousands of eBay users guarantee that it works perfectly in attracting buyers from eBay to their websites, and with the help of a well written sales copy they were able to sell directly to buyers without using eBay.
